Start early
Fellowship and grant applications can take more time than expected. Starting early gives you space to ensure you are set up correctly in the AAUW Fellowships and Grants Application portal, reflect on your goals, refine your narrative responses, and handle any unexpected delays with required documents or recommenders.
Gather required documents
Most AAUW fellowship applications require transcripts, letters of recommendation, and narrative question responses. Check the specific requirements for your program and give recommenders plenty of notice.

Please note that the AAUW Fellowships and Grants team is a small but mighty team, so reaching out with your question well before the deadline can help ensure you get a response in time. While the standard response time is 2 business days, due to an influx in inquiries during the application period, our response time may be longer. Please plan accordingly. Application submissions will not be accepted past the deadline for any reason.
