Program Manager

Summary Description

The Program Manager is responsible for key program relationships, operations and procedures for AAUW’s signature programs, including salary negotiation, leadership, education, and training.  

Essential Duties

Training and Facilitation:

  • Represent the programs at relevant events, serving as an expert workshop facilitator and trainer
  • Report on/follow up with contacts/potential collaborators 

Program Operations:

  • Initiate, track, and catalog invoice processing and revenue tracking for workshops, in coordination with the Finance department
  • Manage operations for AAUW’s workshop facilitator corps, including certification, recruitment and evaluation
  • Create and maintain documentation for all standard operating procedures for program implementation
  • Work collaboratively with team to ensure smooth execution and implementation of programmatic changes; serve as the point of contact leading communications to volunteers and external stakeholders
  • Develop rollout strategies for implementing and communicating key program developments, changes, and efforts

Workshop Management and Promotion:

  • Develop and implement revenue-generating strategies to support program sustainability and growth
  • Oversee workshop contract execution and tracking
  • Coordinate project roles and relationships between initiative partners and AAUW staff, including developing and implementing program timelines, marketing and outreach goals, and workshop/online logistics
  • Execute process for workshop requests and manage follow-up with new workshop sites
  • Cultivate relationships and conduct outbound outreach for Work Smart Online promotional partners
  • Coordinate logistics for in-person workshops
  • Execute post-workshop reporting

Salesforce Administration:

  • Strategize and implement customizations and structure of records to fit evolving program needs
  • Research and initiate solutions for automation and process-building to expand staff capacity and streamline workflows
  • Support Salesforce integrations with other platforms, including Zoom, Eventbrite, Survey Monkey, Docebo and AdobeSign
  • Create Salesforce reports and dashboards to support data-driven decisions and track the program’s progress towards goals
  • Develop and support procedures to ensure the standardization of records
  • Maintain Salesforce data integrity via merges, imports, updates, and other routine measures
  • Support and assist in training new Salesforce users
  • All other duties as required and assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 4 to 5 years of work experience in program management
  • Direct experience managing, tracking, and facilitating approval for a high volume of incoming requests, documents, inquiries, and reports in a timely and effective manner
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and database management required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable with learning new technologies (e.g., Eventbrite, Survey Monkey, AdobeSign)
  • Excellent public speaking and communication skills; experience facilitating workshops and training
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners
  •  Able to work independently and flexibly, as part of a team, and effectively with colleagues and volunteers
  • Comfortable and able to excel in fast-paced, fluid environments and able to quickly transition from one strategy to another in reaction to new information
  • Able to balance multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Adept at relationship-building and stewardship of key stakeholders and volunteers
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Clear understanding and commitment to AAUW mission, goals and objectives


Compensation and Location

The salary range for this position is $62,000 to $68,000 and it is offered along with a competitive benefits package. The position is based in Washington, DC.
