International Coalitions

AAUW’s work extends globally through membership in coalitions to support human rights treaties, collaboration with international organizations such as the United Nations, and the promotion of major observances such as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Human Rights Day, International Women’s Day, and the International Day of the Girl Child.

United Nations

Through our special consultative status with the United Nations, AAUW has the honor of advocating for UN policies that include women and girls. We promote respect for human rights and UN work in the United States through a series of coalitions and working groups.

UN Association of the United States of America

UNA-USA is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to building understanding of and support for the ideals and work of the United Nations among the American people.

U.S. National Committee for UN Women

The U.S. National Committee for UN Women supports the mission of UN Women, which works toward social, political, and economic equality for women and girls around the world. Members and supporters are men, women, and children in cities around the country who give their time and resources to support a world in which women of all ages have access to education and employment opportunities and sustainable livelihoods, enabling them to live free from gender-based violence.

NGO Committee on the Status of Women, New York

The NGO Committee on the Status of Women, New York, (NGO CSW/NY) supports the work of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women and UN Women and represents more than 100 member organizations and individuals concerned about the status of women and girls.

The Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CoNGO)

CoNGO is an independent, international, and nonprofit membership association of nongovernmental organizations whose objective is to secure, safeguard, and facilitate the participation and consultative relationships of NGOs in United Nations decision making, conferences, and debates.

U.S. Global Leadership Coalition

This network includes 400 businesses and nongovernmental organizations, national security and foreign policy experts, and leaders in business, religious groups, academia, and communities from all 50 states. All these groups work together to support a smart, powerful approach of elevating diplomacy and development alongside defense in order to build a better, safer world.
