STEMed for Girls Webinar Schedule

STEMed for Girls thoughtfully crafted the webinar series to cater to both girls and their caregivers. These workshops are a collaborative space where caregivers are encouraged to participate in sessions that resonate with them, actively supporting their girl’s journey into the STEM world. The sessions themselves are a treasure trove of knowledge, featuring expert speakers who will delve into a range of topics. From exploring various STEM pathways to preparing for college and uncovering the vast career opportunities in fields such as mathematics and chemistry, each session is an insightful adventure into the realm of STEM, designed to enlighten and inspire.

Session 1: How/When to offer support/guidance
Wednesday, March 27, 2024 | 7:00- 8:30 PM EST 
In this session we give Caregivers tools to help alleviate the stressors and to support girls interested in STEM. We go through various questions caregivers may have regarding introducing their girls to STEM and reinforce how to support them on this journey without pushing the too hard/away.
Session 2: Ending the school year/looking ahead and summer goals
Wednesday, April 24, 2024 | 7:00- 8:30 PM EST
In this session we discuss resources to support the continued growth of girls through leadership skills, internships, research projects, and around the town activities, especially over the summer break.
Session 3: Working with school counselors
Wednesday, May 22, 2024 | 7:00- 8:30 PM EST
In this session we discuss how caregivers can work with school leaders and counselors; how can school administrators provide support for caregivers in helping girls in STEM advance to the next level of her STEM education (e.g. course selection, AP course support, completing a research project, after school clubs, advocacy, internships, advancing from grade-to-grade, etc.).

In this session we will discuss Advancement in the STEM field (through the technology lens). Discuss what it means to be the leader and advance a team.



Discussion with STEM Ambassadors about their STEM journeys and their career experiences through the lenses of advancement. Following the panel students will partake in a problem-solving with the use of a simulation that teaches technology skills.
Session 7: STEM Exploration – Physics
Wednesday, March 6, 2024 | 7:00- 8:30 PM EST 
In this session we will discuss Sense of belonging (through a physics lens). One of the main roadblocks to women in STEM is not feeling like you belong. We will discuss community building and taking up space as a woman in STEM.



Discussion with STEM Ambassadors about their STEM journeys and their career experiences through the lens of sense of belonging. Following the panel students will partake in a problem-solving with the use of a simulation that teaches physics skills.
Session 8: STEM Exploration – Engineering
Wednesday, April 3, 2024 | 7:00- 8:30 PM EST
In this session we will discuss leadership in STEM (through and engineering lens. We will demonstrate how to problem-solve, how to engage with peers and decision making.



Discussion with STEM Ambassadors about their STEM journeys and their career experiences through the lenses of leadership. Following the panel students will partake in a problem-solving with the use of a simulation that teaches engineering skills.
Session 9: STEM Exploration – Biology
Wednesday, May 8, 2024 | 7:00- 8:30 PM EST
In this session we will explore different mentorship relationships (coach, mentor, champion, etc.). Create plan to identifying a mentor(s) along the STEM journey.



Discussion with STEM Ambassadors about their STEM journeys and their career experiences through the lenses of advancement and leadership. Following the panel students will partake in a problem-solving with the use of a simulation that teaches biology skills.
Session 10: Voices of Students + evaluation 
Wednesday, June 5, 2024 | 7:00- 8:30 PM EST
Providing space for students to share and ask questions about their experiences on their journey to STEM and the End of cohort Evaluation.
