Snap a Photo, Get Out the Vote!
Are you ready to get out the vote on campus or in your community? A photo campaign is one of the easiest and most creative ways you can spread the word about all of AAUW’s issues. It’s also a great way to recruit AAUW members and supporters. From equal pay to reproductive justice, there are lots of important topics to cover. Ask people to share what issues matter most to them and why they’re voting.
Step 1: Create an event that will bring people to your AAUW table, like a voter registration drive or other on-campus event. Pick a high traffic area and have other AAUW swag available to attract people walking by.
Step 2: Ask visitors to your table to show their support by writing why their vote matters. Write in a classic AAUW slogan or ask people to create their own. Here are some examples to get you started:
- “Equal pay for equal work”
- “Safe campuses”
- “Paid sick leave”
- “Access to affordable contraception”
Step 3: Take a high-quality photo of your visitor to seal the deal!
Step 4: Post the photos on your AAUW social media accounts and encourage participants to do the same to help spread the word. Be sure to include the hashtag #ItsMyVote and tag @AAUWActionFund or @AAUWCampus.

A successful get-out-the-vote campaign must be a compliant one! Make sure you’re following IRS guidelines for voter education.
The AAUW and AAUW Action Fund’s Voter Issue Guide provides concise information about key policy issues in elections, topical buzzwords, and questions to ask the candidates.
