Fact Sheet: For Women and Girls, the Common Core Is a Step Toward Greater Equity

AAUW and the Center for American Progress have released a new fact sheet that explores the positive effect the Common Core State Standards can have on gender equity in education. In particular, Common Core can have an invaluable effect on girls of color, who significantly lag behind their peers in math and science. AAUW members are encouraged to bring this fact sheet to teachers, PTA meetings, and school board meetings.
