AAUW at the 62nd UN Commission on the Status of Women

As an ECOSOC-accredited nongovernmental organization, AAUW is invited to participate in the annual UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), March 12–23, 2018, in New York City. AAUW participants attend sessions at the United Nations during the CSW, as well as other parallel events organized by nongovernmental organizations and foreign missions from around the world.

AAUW will be holding a parallel event at the Nongovernmental Organization (NGO) CSW Forum on Friday, March 16.

The event, Gender Equity & ICT: Resources for Impact, Action, and Education, focuses on the review theme of participation in and access of women to media, information, and communications technologies (ICT), as well as ICT’s impact on and uses as instruments for the advancement and empowerment of women. There will be an interactive panel discussion to provide participants with real-life experiences and the latest strategies and tools to ensure that we are developing a strong and diverse next generation of girls and women in ICT in our schools and workplaces globally.
