Event Description:

It’s 2016, but women are still paid only 79 cents for every dollar paid to men. Equal Pay Day is the symbolic day when women’s earnings “catch up” to men’s earnings from the year before. This year that day falls on April 12, 2016. Help AAUW spread the word in your campus community by planning an unequal pay bake sale, writing an op-ed, or hosting a campus rally.

AAUW student affiliates, AAUW student organization leaders, Younger Women’s Task Force members, and AAUW members gearing up for Equal Pay Day are invited to attend the What to Do for Equal Pay Day on Your Campus webinar on Thursday, March 3, at 2 p.m. or 8 p.m. ET. Feel free to join whichever one fits best with your schedule. Participants will

  • Learn about the gender wage gap and how it is harmful to women and families.
  • Hear about what AAUW is doing to fight for fair pay from AAUW policy staff.
  • Receive campus programming tips to take your Equal Pay Day events to the next level.
  • Get inspired to raise awareness about pay equity on your local campus this spring.

This webinar is open to anyone interested in planning an Equal Pay Day event in their campus community. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions before the webinar begins. If you have any questions, please contact leadership@aauw.org.
