Webinar: Bring Tech Savvy to Your Community

April 29, 2015

Time: 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Eastern

Location: Online (You just need to register.)

Cost: Free

Event Description:

Is your branch looking for an opportunity to encourage local girls in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)? Join AAUW for a webinar about how your branch can apply to host the successful Tech Savvy STEM conference for girls in 2016.

In 2015, 17 Tech Savvy sites are bringing hands-on activities and introducing role models to thousands of middle-school girls across the country — all while educating parents and families about how to empower girls in STEM. Tech Savvy will strengthen ties with your local college or university and will attract new AAUW members who are passionate about women in STEM.

Selected branches will receive a grant to host Tech Savvy, and a representative from your branch (your future designated Tech Savvy committee chair) will attend a training in Washington, D.C., this fall.

Join us for an informational webinar on Wednesday, April 29, to learn how your branch can apply to host a Tech Savvy event at a local college or university. Two webinars covering the same information will be held that day for your convenience, one at 3 p.m. Eastern and a second at 7 p.m. Eastern. During the webinar, you will learn more about the Tech Savvy program model, the resources your branch will need to host the event, and the application process.

Registration for the webinar is now closed. Please contact stem@aauw.org if you have any questions or would like additional information about Tech Savvy.
