Shana  Sabbath

Shana Sabbath is AAUW’s director of Fellowships and Grants, programs that fund exceptional women and nonprofit organizations who pursue academic work and lead innovative community projects to increase equity for women and girls. She has 20 years’ experience in nonprofit, philanthropic, government and higher education organizations. Before joining AAUW, Shana worked on community leadership programs with the Maryland School of Public Policy and the Annie E. Casey Foundation and conducted electoral and policy work with NARAL Pro-Choice America. Shana is an active volunteer in community organizations, including serving as board secretary of Takoma Park Lunch and Learn, whose mission is to work with young scholars, their caregivers, and their community members, to shrink the opportunity gap that many scholars of color from low-income families face. She holds a master’s of public management degree from the Maryland School of Public Policy.
