Get answers to questions you might have about the new AAUW website.
Wow! I am excited about the new logo. Where can I get one to put on my materials?
The branding tool kit includes downloadable logos for print and web as well as the AAUW brand identity reference guide. AAUW states and branches who use Site Resources have the updated look and logo on their websites. State and branch logos are available from the Members Services Database.
Help! I can’t find the Member Center!
The tools that member leaders use are now part of the Member Tools page. The member tools include links to members’ only resources such as the Member Services Database, the Every Member Survey, the AAUW Art Contest, and other member leader tools. There is a link to the member tools in the footer at the bottom of every web page, and you will need to log in to access these tools.
Other materials from the Member Center are now located in the resources section. These materials are sorted by type to help you easily find what you need.
Wait, why do I need to log in?
Logging in with your member number and password is an important improvement to our security of the site. But don’t worry! We have made it easy. If you already use the Member Services Database, you can use that password to log in, and if you don’t already have an account, you can create one in minutes. Once you are logged in, you can access all the member tools and exclusive content and comment on blogs and articles. If you are not a member, you can log in with popular social media tools to comment.
I don’t have my member ID. What now?
You can access your member ID online anytime! Enter the name, state, and ZIP code AAUW has on file and your ID will pop up.
If you still can’t access your ID, it may be because you’re entering information that doesn’t match your file with AAUW, or your membership has lapsed. Contact customer service at 800.326.2289.
Oh, no! I forgot my password! Can you send it to me?
For security reasons, we cannot access your online password, but you can reset it at any time! Just click “Forgot Password?” on the login page and follow the directions. Don’t forget to write it down somewhere safe!
I’ve moved, changed my name, or otherwise need to update my information in the AAUW member record. Do I have to call?
You can change your member record information any time from the Member Services Database (MSD). You will need to login with your member ID before you can access the MSD. Then, go to the “My Profile” tab and find the text “To make any changes to the information below, click here.” Please allow 24 hours for processing any changes. If your name has changed, please call customer service at 800.326.2289.
When I use Internet Explorer, I get a security warning message. What should I do?
Some Internet Explorer users are getting a warning when logging in to access member tools. Setting www.aauw.org as a “trusted site” can keep this error message from appearing.
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Click TOOLS* then INTERNET OPTIONS.
*some versions of Internet Explorer use a gear icon in the top right corner instead of a toolbar.
- Click the SECURITY tab, and then select LOCAL INTRANET and click CUSTOM LEVEL.
- Scroll most of the way down to the option “websites in less privileged web content zone can navigate into this zone.” Select ENABLE. Then click OK.
- Also under the SECURITY tab, select TRUSTED SITES, then select SITES and type in https://www.aauw.org as a trusted site. Click ADD. Then click CUSTOM LEVEL under the SECURITY tab. Scroll most of the way down to the option “websites in less privileged web content zone can navigate into this zone.” Select ENABLE under that choice. Then click OK.
- Close and re-open your browser and try your login again.
What are these “comments” you keep talking about?
To increase engagement on the site, we have reorganized the content into the issues that matter to AAUW members. We have merged AAUW Dialog into the website and added a section of articles, where you can find the latest news on what we’re working on. We want you to be part of the discussion — add comments about what you know from your experience, what you think about the issue, or give feedback to the author.
Oh, wow, the reorganization really messed me up. Where’s my stuff?
Any website redesign requires that pages to be moved, and URLs change. Here is a list of the most commonly visited pages and their new URLs. We also encourage you to explore the content under Our Issues and What We Do.
What if I still can’t find what I am looking for?
We have integrated a Google search tool into our site, and we encourage you to use it to help you find what you are looking for. In the upper right hand corner of any page, enter key words or phrases into the search bar and hit “enter.” It is not necessary to put your search terms in quotes. Using “AAUW” as part of your search will pull unexpected results, as it may include any document with “AAUW” in it. (There are a lot of those.)
How can I see the updates to www.aauw.org?
You can sign up for regular e-mail updates from our RSS (really simple syndication) feed. This feed offers readers a live-updated source for the latest postings on www.aauw.org. Subscribers to the RSS feed who signed up with our provider Google FeedBurner before February 20, 2013, have been automatically subscribed to our current RSS feed. Learn more about the AAUW RSS feeds.
What do I do if I still have questions?
You can contact Connect2AAUW at 800.326.2289 from 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday or e-mail them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
