Branch Public Policy Chair Manual
It’s an exciting time to be an AAUW branch public policy chair (BPPC) — it seems like one of our priority issues is in the news every day! BPPCs are instrumental in organizing AAUW members to have an impact at the local, state, and federal levels.
This manual is for AAUW members serving as BPPCs. It provides an overview of the branch public policy chair role, the basics of public policy and advocacy, and sample tactics to take action. It also includes contact information for AAUW policy staff, a comprehensive list of advocacy how-to resources, and excerpts of relevant AAUW board policies.
We’ve also created a manual for state public policy chairs, who you’ll work closely with. Good luck with your advocacy plans this year!
