Promote Equity on Campus with AAUW Public Service Announcements

The American Association of University Women has introduced its new Because Equity Is Still an Issue public service advertisements. This ad campaign takes a fresh approach to issues that matter to us: pay equity, women’s achievement in science and technology, and the lack of tenured female professors in academia. They have a focus on the facts that makes AAUW’s message clear – equity for women and girls is still an issue.

PSAAAUW’s PSAs deliver three distinct messages – all of which have unique appeal to students on campus.

  • The average income for a woman with a bachelor's degree is 24 percent lower than that of a man with the same level of education — $32,238 vs. $42,292.
  • Even though more women are attending college than ever before, women receive only 19 percent of bachelor's degrees in physics, 26 percent in computer science, and 18 percent in engineering.
  • Only 21 percent of full-time tenured professors are female.

Help AAUW promote equity in education and in the workplace for women and girls in your community. Visit the AAUW website to download high-res versions of the ads and get them placed in your school newspaper as well as other campus and community publications. Help us deliver the message – because equity is still an issue.
