Pass the Paycheck Fairness Act
The Senate is poised to vote on the Paycheck Fairness Act. With women now making up half of the workforce and a larger percentage of breadwinners than ever before, the pay gap is hurting the majority of American families – especially in these tough times. Equal pay for equal work is not only crucial to most families' economic security, it's crucial to our nation's economic recovery as well. With special provisions to assist small businesses and its inclusion of familiar policies and practices from later civil rights laws, the Paycheck Fairness Act is a commonsense bill that will make real progress in closing the pay gap.
