LUNA and AAUW: #20PercentCounts
In recognition of Equal Pay Day, LUNA partnered with AAUW to offer a 20-percent discount to reflect the gender pay gap. By teaming up with AAUW, LUNA continued its history of championing women’s equality by raising awareness about the 20-percent gender pay gap that women face. To spread the message that #20PercentCounts, LUNA offered a 20-percent discount on all LUNA Bars sold on www.lunabar.com April 3–11, 2017, and matched the discount with a donation of up to $100,000 to sponsor no-cost AAUW salary negotiation workshops in partnership with Lean In’s #20PercentCounts campaign.
By partnering with AAUW, RealHer is proving that it is a beauty brand built on philanthropy for the millennial audience. RealHer combines its mission to inspire women with motivational quotes on each product with a commitment to supporting gender equity. For every product sold, RealHer donates 20 percent of all profits to AAUW to support its mission to advance equity for women and girls through philanthropy, advocacy, education, and research. RealHer’s robust social media and influencer marketing outreach, which showcase its support for AAUW, have garnered acclaim from numerous bloggers and media outlets such as Nylon magazine.
Clorox Green Works
In an effort to empower girls in science, Clorox Green Works® partnered with AAUW to sponsor StemBox, a monthly subscription service providing at-home science experiments and encouragement to girls. For each Stembox sold, Clorox Green Works donated $1 to AAUW to empower women and girls in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), with a commitment to contribute $25,000 to support AAUW’s STEM programs for girls. AAUW and Clorox Green Works teamed up to launch an influencer program that focused on girls’ potential (#NaturalPotential) and featured female scientists, lifestyle bloggers, and social media influencers on a variety of social media platforms. Additionally, AAUW’s 2015 Holiday Gift Guide for Empowering Girls included the Clorox Green Works Stembox to promote the holidays as a time when parents can encourage their daughters’ interest in STEM.
