AAUW Issues Statement about AAUW NYC Branch and Muhammadu Buhari, a Candidate in the Nigerian Presidential Elections
WASHINGTON – The American Association of University Women (AAUW) today issued the following statement about the AAUW New York City Branch issuing an award to Muhammadu Buhari:
AAUW's many branches have the liberty to create and bestow branch awards upon individuals and/or entities they deem worthy. The Legacy Ambassador Award, which was presented to General Muhammadu Buhari, was done so at the sole discretion of the New York City branch without input from the AAUW national organization.
