Panel Discussion to Offer Insight Into and Solutions for Sexual Harassment in Schools
Renowned Experts to Discuss AAUW's New Research Findings

WASHINGTON — On Tuesday, November 15, at the National Press Club, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will convene a panel to discuss the findings of our latest research report, Crossing the Line: Sexual Harassment at School. Panelists will include nationally recognized youth expert Rosalind Wiseman and other activists who are concerned about sexual harassment at school. The report focuses on students in grades 7–12 and found that nearly half of those surveyed experienced some form of peer-to-peer sexual harassment during the last school year. The findings provide fresh insight into an age-old problem and have already generated significant media attention, in part because this is the most comprehensive, nationally representative research conducted in the past 10 years on sexual harassment in middle and high schools.

Students from area high schools are planning to attend the event to ask the panel questions.
