U.S. District Court Says UC Davis Violated Title IX
A U.S. District Court found that the University of California, Davis, failed to comply with Title IX when the plaintiffs in the AAUW-supported case Mansourian v. Regents of the University of California were students but that the school officials' actions relating to the women's wrestling team were meritless. Damages have not yet been determined.

Support Access to Preventative Care and Contraception!
Join AAUW in thanking the Department of Health and Human Services for proposing that birth control be available to the insured without co-pays. But efforts are underway to exempt plans from employers who oppose contraception. E-mail HHS now and tell them that an expansion of the religious exemption could deny women access to necessary and preventative medical services.

An Update on Lead Testing for Books
Federal regulations on selling children's books have been relaxed on books for children over 3 years old. Learn more on the AAUW website.
