AAUW Releases New Report on Sexual Harassment
AAUW’s latest research report, Crossing the Line: Sexual Harassment at School, presents comprehensive new data on the prevalence of sexual harassment in grades 7–12 and its effect on students’ education. The report has received more than 1,000 media hits so far. Please help us share this research with your community. Download the report from the AAUW website or order print copies from ShopAAUW.

AAUW Urges Senate Steering Committee to Promote Jobs for Women
AAUW Executive Director Linda Hallman spoke to the Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee in October to highlight AAUW’s work in promoting jobs for women. She presented the committee chair, Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK), with AAUW’s report The Simple Truth about the Gender Pay Gap.

Thank you for the thousands of e-mails you sent your senators, demanding that federal judiciary nominees be confirmed immediately! Your efforts have paid off with action. The Senate confirmed 16 federal judges in October — almost 43 percent of all federal judges confirmed this year! Send your senators another message demanding an end to the judicial emergency created by vacancies in courtrooms nationwide.

NCCWSL Puts Graduate School on Students' Radar
How many graduate schools can students visit in two hours? At the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders, attendees can “visit” dozens at the 2012 Graduate School Fair! Future women leaders will have the chance to discuss their graduate school plans with recruiters from all over the country. Ask your local schools to participate in the Graduate School Fair today!

New “How to Market Your Branch” Kit in the Mail!
AAUW’s new How to Market Your Branch kit includes helpful tips, tools, and strategies to jump-start your branch’s media and community exposure. Mailed to all recipients of the 2011–12 Starter Kit, this new document offers opportunities for continuous, two-way communication with the national AAUW marketing team. Everyone can download the kit from the website; be sure to e-mail your thoughts, suggestions, and requests for new materials to marketing@aauw.org.

130th Anniversary Membership Campaign Recruitment
We’re celebrating AAUW’s anniversary this month with special events such as Cocktails and Convos happy hours. Remember to use the Shape the Future campaign at your branch’s public events and offer attendees 50 percent off their national dues. These special discounted rates for new members are good through June 30, 2012! Graduate students can join AAUW for $18.81, and new AAUW college/university partner members can join for $130.

Special IRA Tax Benefits End December 31
Enjoy special tax incentives that are good only until the end of the year. Those ages 70 and a half and over can make tax-free gifts to AAUW directly from their IRAs.
