The Right Connection ... that will get you involved, win you that job, and further your career.
Pioneering college graduates founded AAUW more than a century ago when popular wisdom held that higher education impaired women's health. AAUW’s first research debunked that myth, and ever since we have paved the way for women to earn their degrees and achieve their dreams.
Donna Shalala, former secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, credits an AAUW Educational Foundation grant she won decades ago with jump-starting her career.
When she filed suit against two football players who allegedly raped her in her college dorm, Christy Brzonkala relied on the AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund.
And the late Rep. Patsy Mink (D-HI), who drafted Title IX — the law prohibiting sex discrimination in education — was an AAUW branch member.
The Powerful Connection ... that will lead you to fulfill your personal and professional goals.
