Webinar: Inspire Girls in Your Community with Tech Trek
Time: 2 p.m. Eastern and 7 p.m. Eastern
Is your branch looking for an opportunity to inspire local girls to get interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)? Join AAUW for a webinar about how your branch can apply to host the successful Tech Trek STEM camp for girls in summer 2015.
In 2014, seven national Tech Trek camps and 10 AAUW of California camps will provide hands-on activities and women STEM role models to hundreds of eighth-grade girls across the country. Tech Trek alumnae report higher rates of attending college and studying STEM fields than the national average. Taking on this activity will strengthen ties with your local college or university and will open up an opportunity to bring in new members with mission-based programming.
Selected branches will receive a $10,000 grant to host the camp.
Join us for an informational webinar on Tuesday, April 29, at 2 p.m. Eastern or 7 p.m. Eastern to learn how your branch can apply to host a Tech Trek camp at a local college or university. During the webinar you will learn more about the logistics of starting a Tech Trek camp, what you’ll need to host, and the application process.
