Despite gains over the past decades, women and girls continue to be underrepresented in leadership and key professional positions.

Involve yourself in AAUW’s leadership programs and be part of a nationwide community of women striving to improve communities and lives by uniting, educating, supporting, and inspiring each other. These programs help women and girls break through barriers to acquire the skills they need to succeed and lead in their academic, professional, and personal lives. Each year, AAUW’s leadership programs shape the lives of thousands of women and girls.

• National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) - There are few opportunities for women to learn in a female-centered environment how to be a leader. NCCWSL is the only conference in the country that brings together college women from such diverse leadership experiences.

• AAUW Campus Action Projects (CAP) - Campus Action Projects enable student leaders and campus faculty to design and implement effective programs that enhance campus offerings, promote leadership, and improve academic and career outcomes.

• National Student Advisory Council (SAC) - SAC student leaders give AAUW advice and implementation strategies on programming of interest for young women and girls, build relationships with local AAUW branches, lead campus events that promote women’s equity, and help plan and implement NCCWSL activities.

• Campaign College - Campaign College is the only program in the country that trains college women to run for student government. Last spring, AAUW conducted two successful pilot trainings in partnership with the American University Women & Politics Institute and Running Start.

• $tart $mart Salary Negotiation Workshop – $tart $mart Salary Negotiation Workshops provides women, who are college juniors and seniors, with the knowledge and skills to negotiate salaries and benefits to receive fair and realistic compensation.

• AAUW National Convention - At AAUW’s biennial meeting, members build useful professional and everyday skills through motivating workshops, inspiring speakers, and thought-provoking plenary sessions. This signature AAUW event focused on the tremendous strides we are making to break through barriers so that all women have a fair chance.

• AAUW Leadership Development DVD/CD - The Leadership Development DVD/CD is designed to be an accessible training tool and resource for state and branch leaders on a wide array of AAUW programs and projects.
