Recommend a Book Title

Download the ¡Adelante! recommendation sheet. Completed recommendation sheets and any questions should be e-mailed to library@aauw.org.

The timeline is as follows:

  • May 15 – Deadline for submissions of recommendation sheet(s) for consideration
  • June 15 – ¡Adelante! Book of the Month Club list posted 

Criteria for selection of books
Books included on the reading list will:

  • reinforce AAUW’s commitment to diversity
  • be fiction or non-fiction
  • be positively reviewed
  • be in print
  • include books written for adults, young adults and/or children
  • be reflective of but not limited to populations including new and non-readers, people with disabilities, rural and urban poor/homeless people, immigrants, incarcerated people/ex-offenders, and people generally discriminated against based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, language and social class
  • reflect the theme for a particular month if that is appropriate. There are 12 selections included on the ¡Adelante! list

NOTE:

  • Members/branch book clubs will be noted on the AAUW website when their suggestion becomes part of the list.
  • See past lists and monthly themes. Please check previous lists so that titles are not duplicated.
