WASHINGTON—The American Association of University Women (AAUW) will host an audio press call about our new report, Women in Community Colleges: Access to Success, on Thursday, May 9, at 2 p.m. Eastern. In honor of Mother’s Day, the discussion will shine a light on the more than 1 million student mothers in community colleges and focus on what they need to succeed.
The audio press briefing will feature experts in the field and a student mother who will share her personal experience in community college. AAUW wants to make sure that gender is considered as part of broader efforts to increase graduation and completion rates at community colleges.
Andresse St. Rose, report co-author and AAUW senior researcher
Beverly Walker-Griffea, senior vice president for student services at Montgomery College
LaKeisha Cook, student mother currently attending Montgomery College
