Nearly 1,000 students will attend the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL), which will be held June 5–7 at the University of Maryland, College Park. Now in its 29th year, the annual event is co-hosted by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and NASPA—Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. Most conference programming will take place in the Stamp Student Union on campus.
On Thursday afternoon June 5th at 4:30 p.m., Chelsea Clinton, vice chair of the Clinton Foundation, will deliver remarks and participate in a discussion moderated by Elba Moise, a member of the AAUW Student Advisory Council. Clinton will answer additional student questions during an open Q&A.
On Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m., students will hear from the conference’s 2014 Women of Distinction. This year’s honorees are trailblazing journalist and author Hattie Kauffman; entrepreneur Lily Liu; former astronaut Pamela Ann Melroy; president of Montgomery College in Maryland DeRionne P. Pollard; and founder and president of Smith & Company, Judy Smith,the inspiration behind the hit show Scandal.
On Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m., Deanna Zandt, an expert on using technology to change the world, will speak.
