Program Description
Created in 1999, the Committee was formed to address the career advancement of women within the College of Medicine at the University of Tennessee. It has played an integral role in promoting and ensuring gender equity within the College of Medicine by creating programs and policies to combat sexual harassment, increasing the number of women in leadership positions, providing greater access to key committee appointments, performing ongoing salary analyses, creating mentoring programs for postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty, and influencing overall faculty development.
