Program Description
The Graduate Teacher Program, which is based on a philosophy of equity and excellence in teaching, brings all departments together in campus-wide discussions of teaching. The program provides opportunities for graduate students to explore non-biased and non-sexist teaching and learning styles; respond to the needs of a diverse student population; plan and implement and effective course design; model and foster academic ethics; develop a repertoire of effective teaching strategies; demonstrate fairness in assignments, test construction and grading; benefit from peer, faculty and student evaluation; expand advising and counseling skills; and prepare a teaching portfolio.
