Program Description
The Women in International Perspective course has three goals: to encourage understanding around the world as expressed through women’s own writings; to increase knowledge of women’s economic, social, and political condition; and to encourage awareness and respect of cultural diversity. The class lecture concentrates on a women’s issue as defined by women of a specific region of the world each week. Whenever possible, a film is used to highlight the issues. Students, faculty and members of the community who grew up in the region studied are integrated into the class to give a personal perspective.
