Program Description
The New Jersey Project is supported by staff of numerous two- and four-year colleges in the state. The project encourages and supports the work of faculty, staff and students at public and private colleges in New Jersey who are integrating issues of gender, race/ethnicity, class and sexuality into higher ed curriculum. It is the first statewide curriculum transformation project in the nation, and has been funded by the New Jersey Department of Higher Education since 1986.
Update
The project conducts an annual Student Achievement Awards for Excellence in Feminist Scholarship Competition, open to undergraduate students at New Jersey's two- and four-year colleges and universities. The competition recognizes student work that applies gender and/or multicultural scholarship perspectives to any discipline or that focuses on women's contributions in any area of study. Monetary awards are presented to authors of ten winning student essays at an annual spring Awards Dinner featuring a noted speaker. More information is available the project's website.
