Program Description
The Douglass Project was initiated to encourage girls to remain interested in science before they go to college. The institute educates 46 young women each year during a two-week residential program at Douglass College. Incoming 11 graders take science and math courses, have the opportunity to discuss future careers in math and science and participate in relevant field trips. The following year participants return to Douglass with their parents and teachers so that the project supports a network of high school girls throughout New Jersey.
Update
The Douglass Project continually develops, coordinates, and evaluates programs to address issues women face in these fields. Our programs enhance educational experiences and provide personal development and leadership opportunities. The Douglass Project encourages students to recognize their abilities and empowers them to attain their goals.
