Program Description
The Sex Equity Project, which is funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Education/Vocational Education Fund, was established to promote gender equity and to encourage 14-15 year olds in northeastern Pennsylvania to consider employment in non-traditional fields. Project activities include in-service programs for teachers, counselors, and administrators who are trained to conduct equity sessions for faculty, parents, and students in their school districts. By 1989, 525 secondary school students and 235 parents and educators had been trained through the Project.
