Program Description
Heritage College works to increase multi-cultural, bi-lingual teachers in classrooms with 30 percent or more minority students through two programs. The College Opportunities Mentorship (COMP), funded by a grant from the Washington State Higher Education Coordinating Board, employs Hispanic and Native American students at Heritage College and act as mentors to students from their communities. The student mentors are trained in counseling skills, financial aid and application procedures, and admission requirements at Washington state colleges and universities.
