Wilson v. Goddard College

Case History
A case in which an undergraduate student sued for quid pro quo sexual harassment by the college's dean of administration. Tiffany Wilson alleged that the 52-year-old dean, whom she viewed as a father figure, successfully pressured her into performing a variety of sex acts with him. Wilson became severely depressed and developed an eating disorder as a result, she alleged, of the sexual harassment. She filed suit in July 1995. The college declined to renew the employment contract for the harasser but he was subsequently re-hired. Similarly, Goddard failed to renew the contracts of the academic adviser and dean of academic affairs. The case settled out of court in September 1996 for an undisclosed amount.
