McCaffrey v. University of Wisconsin-Madison
Case History
A sister case to Arakawa v. University of Wisconsin-Madison, in which Jennifer McCaffrey — a former research associate in the Department of Oncology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison — sued the institution, claiming a hostile work environment, sexual harassment, and pay inequity. Based on an internal investigation, the university's affirmative action office found that there was sex discrimination in the oncology laboratory that was likely in violation of Title VII. The university agreed to pay Jennifer McCaffrey $10,000.
