This is a call for applicants for appointment on the AAUW Nominating Committee. This committee will be responsible for developing a slate of highly qualified candidates to run for positions on the AAUW 2011-2013 board of directors.
To apply for appointment to the Nominating Committee, you will need to download the fillable PDF application form to your computer. When the form is completed, e-mail executive@aauw.org with the form and your current resume attached. You will receive a confirmation e-mail to verify receipt of your application. If you do not receive this confirmation within 72 hours of submission, please contact Roberta Travis by email at travisr@aauw.org or by phone at 202/785 -7710. The deadline for application is January 10, 2010.
Qualifications for Appointment to the AAUW Nominating Committee
Recognizing that strategic thinking and leadership development are important components underscoring a nominating committee's efforts, individuals submitting applications for appointment to the AAUW nominating committee must demonstrate in their responses their expertise or knowledge of the following:
- Passion for AAUW mission, vision and Value Promise
- In-depth understanding of AAUW's purposes, program, policies and strategic direction
- Up-to-date knowledge of recent AAUW changes in bylaws, structure and governance
- Prior or current leadership experience at state or national level that could include committee or task force participation, referencing their experience in working within a committee and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to outreach, network and communicate with AAUW members/leaders to identify prospective candidates
- Full internet access with an e-mail address.
