The trend toward globalization and the dominant role of the United States in world affairs inspires AAUW to seek strategic opportunities to increase awareness of issues facing the lives of women and girls worldwide. AAUW fulfills this goal by engaging in targeted activities and projects nationally and at the state and grassroots level to break through barriers globally. At the national and local level, AAUW promotes active dissemination of programs highlighting issues of concern to women around the world, hosts international visitors and promotes global linkages.
