Your Best Wishes to AAUW on its 125th Anniversary |

Our Branch is indebted to our Scenic Mountains, which have inspired us to be the self-starting women that AAUW has fostered for the last 86 years here!!

Congratulations, AAUW! Even though women have such a long way to go to reach true equality with men, the courage of many, many women through the years continues to sustain our fight. As a former member of the Tarrant County Branch in Fort Worth, Texas (former because I live in Houston now) I admire very single woman I met through AAUW. Each was a source of knowledge and dignity not to be found in other organizations. I love you all.

Congratulations on your 125th Anniversary. I joined AAUW in 1956 when I was pregnant with our first child. I have been a member in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Colorado, where I have served in various capacities. I have been president of AAUW Rapid City (SD) and co-president of the Foothills (CO)Branch. I have two granddaughters, and because of AAUW they will not have equity problems, but equity is still an issue. Happy Birthday!

I joined AAUW after becoming divorced so I would have other women to play bridge with. Little did I know I would make life long friends of the most interesting people I know. They either work or volunteer, know much about our community, politices, local schools, etc. I always learn something from my friends whenever we get together. It's a wonderful organization that I am proud to be a member of.
