Coming Soon to Your Mailbox, Fall Outlook

October 22, 2011

The Fall issue of Outlook magazine is on its way to your mailboxes, but you don’t have to wait to read all the great content because it’s available online now.

AAUW members can log in to read about why women over age 65 are increasingly choosing to stay in the workforce and the economic reasons why many women simply can’t afford to retire. Be sure to write in and let us know what issues have influenced your plans for retirement. We’d love to feature your experiences on the blog in the next few weeks!

The Fall issue also highlights a story about the rediscovery of original copies of the 1885 AAUW research report that helped prove that education doesn’t hurt a woman’s health. And since we offer a free feature online with every issue of Outlook, members and nonmembers alike can read the story of AAUW’s long fight to help build a National Women’s History Museum in Washington, D.C. The museum won’t cost taxpayers a dime, but that hasn’t stopped a few members of Congress from holding up the land purchase.

As you enjoy this issue, think about letting us know what great branch and state programs you’re implementing in your communities. Maybe you’ll find that your local efforts make it into the next issue!

What a great idea to let us all know in advance that Outlook is coming–but we can read it online now. We in Virginia can learn from this as we move toward more members reading our state newsletter online.
